FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Repair times, warranty, fees, mail-in and more.

How long does a repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 45 minutes to an hour, and many are done in 1–48 hours. We work in the order devices arrive and can’t guarantee exact times. Mail-in repairs take 2–8 weeks regular or 1–7 days expedited.

Is my repair covered by a warranty?

Yes. Every repair has a 60-day warranty. If an issue from your original work order comes back within 60 days, we redo the repair for free, and parts are guaranteed for 60 days. New, unrelated issues aren’t covered.

What voids the warranty?

Drops, liquid, electrical damage or malware; cracked screens, dents, opening or modifying the device, or charging with non-original cables; parts not bought through us; and software issues like virus removal or OS installs. Some repairs may also void your manufacturer’s warranty.

Can I get a refund on a warranty repair?

We re-attempt the repair first so we can check the claim. If we can’t fix it, we refund you minus the repair-attempt fee and return shipping. You ship the device to us; we cover the return shipping.

Can the estimate change?

Sometimes. Some problems only show up once work starts. We’ll never go further without your approval, and your original estimate stays valid for the work it originally covered.

Are there risks to repairing my device?

Yes. A device can be beyond repair or damaged during repair. Glued screens, like on iPads, can crack when opened; Face ID or Touch ID can stop working; and liquid-damaged boards can keep degrading over time.

Will I lose my data?

We take every precaution, but we can’t guarantee your data or accept liability for data loss. If a repair could affect your data, we’ll warn you and offer a backup for an extra fee. Please back up before service.

Do you charge to look at a device?

Motherboard repairs, data recovery and devices previously repaired elsewhere carry a $40–$100 repair-attempt fee if the repair isn’t successful. For mail-in repairs, a $100 diagnosis fee applies if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.

Do you need a deposit for parts?

We’ll tell you before ordering any part. If you want to keep your device while you wait, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the part cost. If you bring your own part, the repair has no warranty and you waive liability for faulty or incompatible parts.

How long can I leave my device?

We hold devices for 60 days after we ask you to pick up. After that the device is considered abandoned and may be sold to cover costs, or recycled. Need longer? Arrange storage with us at $40 per month.

Can you come to me?

Yes. Our mobile repair unit does on-site repairs. Choose “On-site” in the quote form.

I’m not local. Can I mail my device in?

Yes. Fill out the mail-in form, print the PDF we email you and pack it with your device, then ship it via UPS, USPS or FedEx. We’ll text you when it arrives, send an estimate, and ship it back once it’s fixed and paid for.

Is shipping insured?

Only if you ask for insurance. Uninsured shipments travel at your own risk. We can’t insure prepaid labels you provide, and a device sent in a generic box comes back in a generic box.

What payment do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, JCB, Diners, UnionPay and PayPal.
